Well, folks, I got something to say to you. Let’s get into today’s topic.

The future. Man, it’s a concept, ain’t it?

Trying to predict what’s next? That’s like chasing shadows in a pitch-black room. Ain’t never gonna catch it. Life’s all about that joker card, got plenty of aces up its sleeve. Life comes at you sideways, full of surprises.

We scheme. We dream, we humans love to plan. We make plans, set goals, build big fat dream castles in the skies, but then…bam! Life happens. Corona happens, drastic climate change, or even technological overload.

You know why we plan? Because it gives us an illusion. The illusion of control. We love pretending we got control. In reality, the universe is busy chuckling in the corner, while we tighten our hypothetical seat belts. Spoiler alert: that ride ain’t going the direction you mapped.

Now, I’m not saying plans are a complete waste. I got plans to visit my grandma and then Hawaii. Just pointing out that the future ain’t set in stone. But what’s the fun in concrete futures? The uncertainty, the twist and turns, the unpredictable…that’s where the adventure is!

Economic predictions? National Debt reaching the stratosphere? Yeah, sounds scary. But, these are projections. Not this very moment’s reality. Projections change.

Some truths for you. Right now, this very second — you’re alive. You’re breathing… I hope. And, Most likely, you’re not being chased by a saber-toothed tiger. You’re not out trying to beat chase down a bear for the last fish. Consider that a win!

Fear of the future is a natural thing. I got that. But don’t let the fear of this mirage rob you of the now. You see, all that worryin’ about what might be, steals the joy from what already is.

I mean, let’s face it, we’re all on a rock hurtling through space at mind-bending speed. Ain’t that thrilling enough for you? Yet we’re over here agonizing about sticking to the 5-year plan when the world will be totally different in 2 years.

Finally, here’s something to chew on. There’s much to be said for living in the moment. The present — it’s where life’s happening. The past is a ghost, the future a dream. All we ever have is now.

Let’s stop trying to predict, plan, and control the future, okay? Sit back, enjoy the ride,- the unpredictability, the chaos, and the unpredictability, because that is the joy of life.

And remember, anything that gets your blood racing is probably worth doing. And if anything gets your brain racing, it’s probably worth thinking about.

’Til next time, keep the surprises coming, Life.
